Top Interior Designer Shares Secrets To Maximizing Condo Unit Design

Choosing to live in a condominium has its fair share of perks and challenges. The most common struggles fall on making the most out of the living area, enabling home owners to have the freedom of movement in a comfortable space. Rockwell Primaries realizes the need to have well-designed compact units that modern city dwellers will love and enjoy. Interior designer Alice Erfe shares her expertise in designing and maximizing spaces for a condo unit.

“We wanted to work with someone we trust, someone who understands Rockwell Primaries as well as what our market deserves. We have worked with Alice for our first project, 53 Benitez, and are confident that The Vantage will deliver the design that meets the taste and preferences of our audience,” said Malou Pineda, Senior Vice President, Rockwell Primaries Development Corporation.

A veteran in the industry, Erfe is the lead interior designer for most of Rockwell Land and Rockwell Primaries developments. She heads her own firm, Erfe & Associates, and has earned the respect and reputation of excellence in the past 20 years. She is one of the country’s maestros in interior design; hence, her design plan for The Vantage at Kapitolyo is definitely one to be excited about.

The Vantage at Kapitolyo is Rockwell Primaries’ first integrated vertical village found in the midst of four Central Business Districts – Ortigas, Mandaluyong, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City. According to Alice Erfe, the Vantage studio unit is perfect for modern city-dwellers or those who desire small but stylish living spaces.

“Designing has always been a passion of mine and when The Vantage at Kapitolyo was in the planning stage, I was inspired to build a cozy home for the studio unit design. I made sure to emphasize on maximizing small spaces, utilizing everything down to each nook and cranny, without sacrificing style,” said Erfe.

Each unit of The Vantage can be specially designed to cater to residents’ specific wants and needs that suit their lifestyle and personality. Erfe likewise shares some key points to make units appear more spacious. “It’s important to use mirrors in condos, including having good lighting and furniture that will complement the size of your space,” she added.

According to her, using mirrors creatively can substantially expand a space. It is one of the many common tools designers use to make rooms look more voluminous than it actually is. Good lighting also can help enhance a space visually by creating an illusion. It is vital for maintaining a cozy, inviting ambiance and highlighting desired features. The right furniture greatly helps in the creation of an organized and practical space. Multi-functional and stylish shelves, cabinets, and drawers can create that extra storage you need, without compromising the look you were going for.

Each of the model units at The Vantage also includes specific design techniques to accommodate storage needs and eliminate clutter for one to fully exhaust what the unit has to offer.

Form follows function. When planning out how to design and arrange your unit, Alice Efre believes one should take absolutely everything into account to accommodate each and every need. “A luxurious design is something one can achieve without having to shell out too much. Simple lines and consistent finishes should be the staple if you want to take full control of designing your own unit,” she said.

She also shared that colors that really maximize the interior are neutral palettes while accented colors are more suited on accessories like artworks and pillows. When deciding on the unit fixtures, basic furniture like a sofa, side chair, dining set, and table lamps are must-haves for every condo dweller. By following some of these tips, one can certainly reflect their own personality in the design of their Vantage spaces.

Alice Erfe brings her years of experience and expertise into her latest venture into The Vantage at Kapitolyo. Her design plans look to dispel the mindset of limitations and instead embrace the many possibilities in truly owning your space.
